누가 지만원을 핍박하는가?
지만원은 누구인가? 가난도 자산이라는 이론을 실증한 사람이다. 총알이 날아드는 전장에서도 철모 속에서 영문소설을 꺼내 읽었다. 성실했기에 사관학교 졸업 9년만인 1974년 육해공군해병대에서 1명만 선발하는 영어시험에서 100점 만점에 97점으로 기록을 깼다. 미해군학원 창설 72년 역사상 문과석사가 응용수학 박사과정에 허락된 것은 내가 처음이었고, 이는 이 자체로 기적이요 전설로 인식됐다. 그런데 나는 이 위에 아주 높은 탑을 쌓았다. 기라성 같이 이름을 날린 수학 천재들이 창조하지 못한 수학공식 2개, 수학정리 6개를 창조했고, 미해군 함정들이 싣고 나가야 할 수리부품 수량을 계산하는 알고리즘을 미해군에 선물한 것이다. 1980년 10월 26일, 미해군대학원이 성대하게 치른 졸업식은 오로지 지만원을 위한 세리모니였다.
국방연구원에 근무했던 7년 동안 나는 군예산개혁을 주도하여 군의 전설이 됐다. 미해군대학원에서 3년 동안 교수를 하고 돌아와 군사평론과 시스템이론으로 1990년대를 풍미했다. 1991년 내가 낸 처녀작 '70만경영체 한국군"은 소설을 제치고 7주동안 베스트 1위를 차지했다. 나는 수사기록 18만쪽을 가져다 16년에 걸쳐 연구했다. 여기에 하늘이 노숙자담요를 보내 주셔서 북괴가 광주현장에 남기고 간 현장사진들 수백 장을 분석하여 5.18진실의 완성판을 조각해 냈다. 내가 아는 한 이 나라에서 감히 18만 쪽의 문서를 가져다 10년이고 20년이고 연구하겠다는 애국적 열정과 배짱과 스케일을 가진 사람 없었다. 달팽이 속을 세상의 전부로 인식하는 졸장부들일수록 나를 심하게 폄훼한다.
피타고라스는 삼각형에 관련한 수학정리 1개를 발견했다. 그 후 2,200년이 지난 1,600년, 갈릴레오가 지동설을 발견했다. 그로부터 100년 후 뉴턴이 만유인력의 법칙을 발견했다. 이 세 사람의 과학자는 모두 위대한 발견(Finding)을 했다. 그러나 나는 짧은 3년 동안에 총 9개의 수학 물을 창조(Creation)했다. 신의 경지에 속한다는 몰입의 과정이 없으면 절대로 창조될 수 없는 것들이다. 나는 공부에 방해가 되는 위장병과 싸우기 위해 여러 달 동안 내 손으로 내 배에 30대 이상의 침을 꽂았다. 그리고 뛰었다. 비가와도 뛰었고, 새벽 2시에도 뛰었다. 뛰면서 머리에 수많은 수학기호들을 전개했다. 꿈에서도 문제를 풀었다. 이것이 극기요 몰입이라는 것이다. 이런 극기의 노력을 한 사람, 이런 세계수준의 학문적 업적을 일군 사람, 이 나라에 과연 몇 사람이나 될까? 이런 사람을 놓고 마구 짓밟는다. 심지어는 육사 장군출신까지도 또라이라 부른다 한다. 수많은 애국자들이 애국을 외쳤지만 지만원은 18년 동안 애국 소리 안 치고 오로지 이 나라를 살릴 수 있는 원자폭탄을 제작해 냈다.
갈릴레오는 천동설을 지동설로 바꾸었지만 지만원은 ‘민주화역사’를 ‘게릴라역사’로 바꾸어놓았다. ‘빨갱이역사’를 ‘대한민국역사’로 바꾼 것이다. 이 엄청난 전환을 만들어 낸 주인공은 절대로 장심이사가 될 수 없다. 지만원은 최소한 한국판 갈릴레오다. 갈릴레오는 발견을 한 과학자였지만 지만원은 창조를 한 과학자다. ‘5.18은 게릴라 역사’라는 사실만 널리 확산시키면 ‘빨갱이 없는 낙원’을 만들 수 있다 하는데도 자칭 애국자들은 그런 지만원을 핍박한다. 빨갱이들이 핍박하는 건 당연하다 치지만 매일 같이 입 벌려 스스로를 애국자라 하는 사람들이 지만원을 핍박하고 폄훼하는 것은 용서하지 말아야 한다. 그들은 빌라도의 후예들임에 틀림없다.
내가 이런 사실을 이제 알리려는 것은 지만원이 또라이로 널리 인식되면 ‘빨갱이 없는 세상’은 절대로 그리고 영원히 만들어 질 수 없기 때문이다. 역사를 대단하게 바꾸려면 역사를 바꾼 사람이 대단한 사람이라는 사실도 널리 알려져야 할 것이다

Who is Jee Man-Won. He is the man who proved the theory that poverty can be an asset. Even in the battlefield where bullets were flying in, I took out English novels from my helmet and read them. As I was faithful, in 1974, nine years since I graduated the Military Academy, I gained 97 marks out of 100 in English exam which was aimed to select only one officer from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps, breaking the existing record. In 72 years history since the establishment of the Postgraduate School of US Naval Academy, I was the first case that a Master in Liberal Arts was allowed to enter the Doctorial course in Applied Mathematics Department. This was a real miracle, and it was recognized as a legend. In addition, I built up a high tower over it. I created two mathematical formulas and six mathematical theorems, which a galaxy of renowned mathematics geniuses failed to create, and so, I was successful to present US Navy the algorithm that are devised for computing adequate quantity of repairing spareparts to load on the US warships before they go out to sea. The grand graduation ceremony held in the Postgraduate School of US Naval Academy on October 26, 1980 was the one to celebrate Jee Man-Won only.
During the seven years when I worked for National Defense institute, I took the lead in making reformation on Army budget, and I became a legend in the Army. I returned home after finishing three year service in the Postgraduate School of US Naval Academy as a professor, and I predominated over the period of 1990s by propagating my military commentary and system theory. My first book ‘700 Thousand Managerial Entity of Korean Armed Forces’ that I wrote in 1991 took the top best seller for seven weeks over novels I brought 180 thousand pages of investigation document, and made research on it over 16 years. To fight against the stomachache which was disturbing my research, I pinned more than 30 pins and needles on my belly with my own hands for months. And I started running. I ran in the rain. I ran even in two O‘clock at night. While running, I spread lots of mathematical signs in my mind. I solved mathematical problems even in dreams. This is what is called self-denial and absolute absorption. How many of them this country has those who underwent this kind of self-denial, and who made high level academic achievement recognized worldwide. They are treading down this important figure rashly. Even a retired general, a graduate from the Military Academy, are said to call me a weirdo. Though lots of patriots have been shouting for patriotism, Jee Man-Won didn’t shout for patriotism but completed development of an atomic bomb in 18 years that can save the country.
While Galileo shifted geocentric theory into heliocentric theory, Jee Man-Won shifted ‘history of democratization’ into ‘history of guerilla’. By doing so, Jee Man-Won replaced ‘history of South Korea’ with ‘history of the Reds’. The hero who made this marvellous conversion must not be regarded as common ‘Tom and Dick’. Jee Man-Won is at the least a Galileo of Korean version. Galileo was a scientist who made a Discovery, but Jee Man-Won is a scientist who achieved Creations. Though I say we can make ‘a paradise devoid of the Reds’ only if we spread widely the fact that ‘the May 18th was a history of guerilla’, the so-called self-styled patriots are persecuting Jee Man-Won, the advocator for it. I would take it as a matter of course that the Reds persecute me, but we should not forgive those who speak out everyday to describe themselves as patriots, and persecute and disparage Jee Man-Won. They must be descendants of Pontius Pilate.
The reason I try to let the people know these facts is because, if Jee Man-Won should be widely recognized as a weirdo, ‘the world devoid of the Reds’ are impossible to be made ever for all. To help make great change in history, the fact should be known widely that it is a great man who shifted the history.
